On the issue of countering the use of 3D-printed firearms by terrorists
Abstract
Currently, firearms manufactured using 3D printers are becoming increasingly popular among terrorists. The relative ease of manufacture and low cost make this weapon available to both lone terrorists and organized criminal groups. A large number of polymer parts and the complexity of identifying their purpose greatly simplify the cross-border movement of firearms manufactured using 3D printing, which requires the formation of appropriate competencies among law enforcement officers and customs officials.References
